When it’s your third pregnancy, everyone, including doctors and nurses, want to tell you to be prepared because he or she will come quickly! And what pregnant person doesn’t want to hear that?! I mean, no one wants to be in labor for hours on end! So, those were definitely welcome words in my book! My due date was November 15th. But, for a number of reasons, my husband and I were convinced we would have a baby by Veteran’s Day. We made all the appropriate preparations for our work, our house and our oldest girls. Then, Veteran’s Day came and went with no baby. I thought for sure he or she would be here in the next few days! A few days past.. and a few more… and finally we had surprisingly made it to our actual due date! And… then it past. And a few more days…and a few more days… At this point, I thought I was going to be like one of those elephants that are pregnant for two years. At one week overdue, I had a check-up to discuss our options. After all, baby wasn’t getting any smaller and now there were other a few other medical concerns as well. So, we were sent straight upstairs to labor and delivery. After my water broke, baby Frost was here, healthy and happy, in just 3 short hours! So, for me, it was true what they say! When it’s number 3 and baby is ready, he or she will be quick!
In the delivery room, as soon as she was born everyone was asking “What is it? What is it?!?!” And the Dr responded with, “Dad, you make beautiful girls!” I could’t believe it! Baby Frost is a GIRL!!! Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think I would be the mother to THREE girls! Probably for the best though, I wouldn’t have the first clue what to do with a boy! ;)
